QHY 5III678 Monochrome Planetary Camera & Guider
The QHY5III678M is the latest addition to the new Version 2 line of QHY5III Series planetary cameras and guiders. The QHY5III678M may be considered an enhanced version of its predecessor, the QHY5III178M. Like the IMX178, Sony’s new IMX678 is a back-illuminated 1/1.8-inch format sensor. However, the IMX678 has higher resolution and higher QE plus enhanced NIR sensitivity. In addition, the QHY5III678M cameras are built on the new v.2 platform with improved features.
Extended Near Infrared Sensitivity
In this latest generation of sensors, the photodiode portion of the IMX678’s pixel well is physically deeper than in previous sensors, allowing photons of longer wavelengths to penetrate deeper into the substrate. This dramatically increases the sensor’s sensitivity to red and near-infrared (NIR) light. The sensor displays almost equal peak sensitivity to NIR light as it does to light in the visible spectrum.
New QHY5III v.2 Models
